Stephanie Witherspoon

Founder & Art Director

After earning her BFA in graphic design from Chapman University, Stephanie Witherspoon nabbed a coveted position with the highly esteemed Chase Design Group. There, she acted as lead designer for a number of projects for Mattel and the Cartoon Network—work that was publicly recognized and heralded by Print magazine. Witherspoon's next position was at Gel Communications, where she designed for clients such as Disney, Kellog’s, Paramount, Warner Bros., and Cranium. In 2008, she formed Alterna.tif Design, partnering with web developer Dan Chick and a team of talented freelance designers to offer a full range of design services. Her mission is to help green and sustainable businesses get their message out to the world. When she's not running her business, she practices yoga, enjoys cooking and keeping her organic vegetable garden, and has a passion for traveling and outdoor adventures. She lives in Van Nuys with her husband Ryan and their bearded dragon Roslin.

Dan Chick

Web Developer

It was in 1994—the year that the revolutionary web browser NCSA Mosaic was released—when Dan Chick began professional web development. Thus, when the first book on e-commerce was released in 1997, it was Chick’s company and software that were referenced. Since then, he has developed web applications in PHP, ColdFusion, ASP, Perl, C, Javascript, AJAX, and CSS. Chick also developed the Mercury Framework for PHP applications, as well as two prior frameworks for ColdFusion development. In 2008, Chick partnered with Alterna.tif to provide back-end solutions for a wide variety of websites. He plays ice hockey, Texas Hold'em and 9-ball pool and spends some of his time as a professional fine art photographer.
